Last month I tried out this pattern when I made the red taffeta robe a la polonaise. Now I am going to use the fabric I wanted to use for this robe all along. I have about 10 meters of beautiful purple taffeta with cream embroidery in my fabric stash, which I think will be perfect for this gown.

Patterns used:

Tonight I have only cut out the pattern pieces. Because they are so large I had to wait for our son AND cat to sleep, because otherwise they would make a big mess of it.
These are all the bodice pieces:
Front of the skirt (this is only one piece, I had to cut it twice):
Back of the skirt (also had to be cut twice):

Tonight I have sewn all skirt parts together. It now is more than 4 meters long:

And this has all to be pleated to the bodice!

After much pinning and pleating, the skirt can now be sewn to the bodice.

This is how it looks hanging on a hanger:

In the past week I have made the ruches for the neckline and the front of the bodice. These are all hand-ruched and then I have hand-sewn them all to the robe. Here are pictures of the completed ruching and of the lace and ribbon I used.

Inside of robe. There are 3 D-rings attached to the inside. With a ribbon you can form poufs:
The robe a la polonaise is now finished!

For the underskirt I was planning on using the skirt from this pattern, but somehow these pattern-pieces are missing. Since the TV201 fits nicely over a hoopskirt, I am going to use this pattern. Today I have cut out the pattern pieces and put it all together. Here is the finished skirt (pictures taken before ironing):

And this is how the robe and the skirt look together:
