Last year I made the fantail skirt in black taffeta with two ruffles of silver/black striped taffeta (I didn't make a dress diary of this skirt yet). Now I am going to make a hermione overskirt to go with it. This is the first time I am going to make a skirt of this pattern, so I have no idea yet how it will turn out. Hopefully the two skirts will look good together.
Fabric:

Patterns used:
TV326 Hermione overskirt (I am only going to make the top pannier and not the apron).

I have cut the patterns pieces about two weeks ago. Today I am finally going to start putting it together.
Darts sewn in in front panel of pannier:
Lilac trimming on bottom hem of pannier. It looks white, but it is a light lilac satin.

Making the pleats mid front:
Pleats on side of pannier:

The front panels sewn together:

Back of skirt (drawstring sewn in):

Front and back sewn together:
It all went together very easily, so this skirt was finished in a day. Finished skirt:

Of course I want to make a matching bodice or corset (haven't decided which yet). I have enough silver/black taffeta left for this, but I also have some purple/black taffeta. I might use this fabric to give it all some more colour. Here are some pictures of the purple/black striped taffeta.
