For many months I've been wanting to make a victorian gown made of black pvc. I had some pvc in my fabric-stash and had already cut out the tail-bodice last year. Now I am finally going to finish it. I've modified front the front. Many years ago I made a pvc corset with one panel out of silver satin with net-overlay. This was my inspiration for this bodice.

Modified front panel:
I have "extended" the second dart in a curve upwards. The main part of the bodice is supposed to be black pvc, but I want a front-side panel of white satin with black net overlay. Here are the fabric cut out pieces:

And all the other pattern-pieces:

The sleeves are cut out full lenght, but I am not sure yet if they will stay that way. Maybe I will make them 3/4 with bell-sleeves (if I have enough fabric left).

Today I have sewn together the back-pieces and attached them to the front. As you can see in the pictures, Ivar is really "helping" me :-)

Bodice is finished. Black pvc is a pain to work with and very difficult to photograph.

I have made a matching skirt, but forgot to take pictures. I used the TV polonaise pattern and only used the "bottom half" to make the skirt. I will upload pictures of the finished skirt soon.

Here are some pictures of me wearing the bodice with another pvc-skirt. I am not entirely happy with the way the tail falls over the bodice. It just looks like a big "flap". At this moment I like the tail-bodice better when I don't wear a bustle with it. Maybe I'll make another bodice to fit over the bustle, I have enough fabric left.
