Finally started working on the corset of black/gold dragonbrocade. Not much done yet. I have sewed all the pattern-pieces together and all I can do for now is putting the busk in. I have to buy eyelets before I can continue. Here's the progress sofar.

As always I am making view B (top right). And as always I make modifications to the pattern. All pattern pieces are cut longer (about 2 to 3 cm) and the bust gores are larger and rounder to make a sweatheart line on top.

At last some progress on this corset. Last week I finally had the money to buy more supplies. So tonight I attached the busk and the gromets.

I still had to make it smaller, but now it fits beautifully.

Today I sewed the bone casing to the seams on the inside (I had already sewn the satintrim to the top of the corset before I thought of this). And I started to neatly sew all seams and bone casing into place. Here is a picture of the finished look (hope you can see it):

I have pinned all seams tight. Make sure to really pull tight the fabric when you pin the seams and pull again when you pin the other side of the bone casing. Pictures of the pins:

New tactics today for the bone-casing. Yesterday I've sewn both sides of the bone-casing before inserting the bones. Today I will first only sew through the seams, then insert the steel and then sew the other side of the bone-casing. I hope I can sew very close to the steel to make a tight fit.

First I sew through all the seams:

Here's one side finished. I tried to highlight the pictures, but it is still diffcult to see.

Then I inserted the bones. As allways I am using a mixture of flat steel and spiral steel boning.

To sew really close to the inserted steel I used my zipper-foot and set the needle all the way to the right, as close as possible.
