March 2007
This year I discoverd the Truly Victorian patterns and now I am totally addicted to making victorian costumes. This is my first try. This gown is made of purple crushed taffeta and trimmed with black lace and beading.
Patterns used:
TV101 Wire Bustle

TV201 1870's underskirt
TV305 Bustled apron overskirt
TV416 1875 Ball Gown Basque Bodice (without sleeves)

Fabrics and trims:
This is a picture of the crushed purple taffeta. It is hard to capture the true colour on camera, because the fabric is so shiny.
Here are some pictures of the lace and beading around the neckline and arms of the bodice.

Sadly I don't have any pictures of me wearing it, simply because I never wore it :-)
